Daniel, a suggestion: think you should look for a way for the podcast listening to be based on a web based landing page instead of the sound file itself. Podcasts are usually RSS driven and that's how they get distributed widely. Otherwise there's no way for a listener to get back to where you're based. Make sense? I'd think there'd be a way to configure that and then rerun the RSS feed so it reflects that new location. That will allow you to brand your podcast, list links to previous episodes, etc.

Listening in to Tristan right now and enjoying that.

Great stuff...I've listened to podcasts 0 and 1, and am listening to 2 right now. Thank you Daniel for filling this gaping hole in the mandosphere!

Enjoyed both episodes today- nice work.

I’d put in a recommendation to talk with don stiernberg— is love to heat sone jethro stories and a jazz perspective.

I’ve listened to both episodes and thoroughly enjoyed them! I listen through the Apple podcast app and the episode with Tristan seemed to cut off somewhat abruptly. Seems like there probably wasn’t much left, but figured I’d give you a heads up.

Hey Trey, thanks for the heads up! It did seem to cut off! However it was only about 10 secs left.....just the goodbye.....but strange! I’ll look into it!

Yea I noticed that on Spotify as well. But it's like when a call gets dropped when you were gonna say bye anyway, just call it good lol.

I noticed on the first episode that it ended abruptly (via Apple podcast app), but it didn’t bother me. I listen to hundreds (maybe thousands) of hours of podcasts per year, and I think entirely too much focus is put on intro/outro music etc. In fact, once I learn the format well, I’ll skip all that stuff and get straight to the content. To me, what matters is sound quality and solid content: all else is optional fluff.

I just finished the second episode and I loved it. Tristan is amazing; I had the chance to hear him live a couple years ago. But that's not what I logged in to post. I just played the Spotify playlist that has all the songs referenced in the podcast and Wow... just... awesome.

I highly recommend people go listen to the playlist after the podcast.

Yes Caleb, an interview with Caleb would be grand -- can't imagine a better old time band these days than Foghorn or a better old time mandolin player than Caleb.

Daniel, I'm practicing up for the interview you'll record with me this week. That's OK, right? I do happen to have a genuine Irish pint glass but seems more civil to drink out of Waterford crystal.

Just finished episode 2. Really enjoyed it. Great job! I love the way you weave in the audio clips relevant to the conversation. That really adds a lot. So many interviewers like to hear themselves talk. You don't do that. You have a real knack for focusing on getting the guest to talk on their own. I'm hooked. Cant wait to hear you clink your glass up with ScottT on the next podcast.

I'd love to hear an interview with Sierra Hull, and also one with Justin Moses. I just listened to episodes #2 and #3, nice interviews, I would have liked to hear about Tristan's gear, but otherwise great. I also noticed your accent, you're not originally from Charleston SC are you? I'm hearing a slight hint of Canada in the way you say about

Working with Daniel for the Cafe to be one of his permanent sponsors. This is one of the best new additions to the internet for mandolin promotion since Mandolin Mondays in my opinion.

    Couldn’t agree more!

Daniel you are doing a great job. Keep these interviews going!

P.S. Here’s an idea.. maybe you can do spot lights/gear reviews/beer features on some episodes.

Put flatwounds on tonight! They sound great. Now let’s see how they hold up with gigs for the next 13 days in a row!

I used flatwounds for a while and would definitely try them again at some point. Not sure if I prefer them, they're just different! Loving the podcast, keep 'em coming. Would be great to have an episode with a luthier so we can hear what goes into making the instruments we all love to play.

    Thanks again for the podcast.
