Thread: Kentucky Mandolin km 250s???

    Default Kentucky Mandolin km 250s???

    Hell,
I found a Kentucky mandolin I picked up used, but am still within the 30 day return window. Can you help me figure out the model and offer opinions on whether this is a decent mandolin. I spent around $200 on it.

I’m willing to spend more. I am just looking for a solid mandolin to learn on, and to use on stage occasionally.

The model is a KM-250s (that used to stand for solid top back in the day). I had that same model when it was made in Japan back in the 80's.

Your price is similar to the last two that sold (price in green) on eBay.

I have a KM250 that I bought new on the classifieds here for $395. I am quite happy with it. $200 seems quite reasonable. Prices on new ones have gone up quite a bit recently (perhaps due to trade issues?)

Probably the new KM-250 vs the old. Lot's of differences over the years.
