    Default Mandolin art (drawing)

I did this piece a few years ago and recently ran across it. Thought someone here might enjoy it as a desktop background or something. Pretty sure this is an old painting or photo I saw and sketched from. Do any of you draw?

That's a great drawing Caleb, love the vivid contrast. Pencil or charcoal? Do you still draw? I draw, sculpt and work with ceramics though I find I get less and less time for it all these days.

My father did pencil drawings and watercolor paintings quite well. After he died, I took his drawing pencils and a fresh pad of paper. I have enjoyed trying to draw and it makes feel closer to my Dad.

Your drawing is quite well done with the contrasts in light and dark. Here is another I did recently. I have been doing this just about a year, so I still have much to learn.

Pencil, though a few different ones to achieve the dark contrast. Don’t draw much anymore but am more of a writer these days. But sometimes a piece will call to me.

I did quite a bit of drawing about a decade ago and was actually selling some. I then got started doing a lot of volunteer photography at the high school (first theatre, then sports too) and that took over my free time. A drawing typically took me two to six weeks, but I could cover twenty events in that same time and make a whole lot more people happy!

I only rarely post on this forum, but I do draw quite a lot, so I guess this thread is an obvious place for me to step out of read-only mode.

I know I have this image of the original painting somewhere on my home computer. I know I pinched it off the Cafe. Great rendering!

Nice work folks! I love to draw too. This is a self-portrait/mandolin drawing that I did for my recital in grad school.Click image for larger version.

I love the self-portrait, Harrison! And the woman playing mandolin, Gertz! Very nice work...I'm going to have to get my drawing pad and box of pencils back out now.

I’m not sure where lute ends and mandolin begins.

Beautiful painting, in her case we'll pretend it's a mandolin.
