    Default Can't Find a Post!

Someone recently posted that he is thinking of purchasing a new mandolin. Someone else posted some things to look for as to materials, etc. when shopping for a quality instrument. I had planned to print that response but can't locate it. Can someone direct me there?

Unfortunately there are a lot of these. Was it this one?

"Bargain instruments are no bargains if you can't play them". These are the words of J. Garber.

Check the history in your browser using the time and day that you saw the post?
-though it’s probably wise to delete the history and cookies daily, maybe.

This isn't it. I believe it was someone not sure if he should upgrade. I'm hoping either he or the responder will see my post and lead me to that one. I've been watching for more responses, as I believe I'll recognize the subject line when I see it. I believe the last response was a week or so ago.

What's the reason for deleting history daily?

So no one can discover that you're also reading the banjo forums.

You caught me, Phil! Seriously, my cellphone battery wasn't staying charged. The guy at the Verizon store said I should be cleaning out my history: phone calls, websites, etc. every day. Still having to charge my phone several times each day, so not sure how much that's helping.

You got some bad advice, in my opinion. Clearing out your browser or phone history should have no effect, to speak of, on phone battery life. These data are stored, and not refreshed, and they are not accessed until needed. So, no power drain.

You can save battery power by identifying and then restricting those apps that work in the background, for example. Or dimming your display screen. Or reducing the use of battery-hungry apps that rely on GPS, like Waze or Google Maps. Or turning off Bluetooth, if you don't need it all the time.

Both iPhones and Android phones make battery usage statistics available to you. Be sure to check you battery usage to determine which of your apps are offending the most. See if you can reduce their daily usage, or if you can change their default settings to be less power-hungry (e.g., turn them off in the background).

Thanks for this, sblock. The guy told me this also and I have deleted some apps hoping that would help. Waze is probably my main culprit, but I use it too often to have to delete it then reinstall. Portable chargers help, so until I upgrade, I believe this is an issue I'm stuck with.
