Default Violetta (G. Occhio, 1911), Italian waltz

    G. Occhio: Violetta - Valzer
Arranged and published by P. Tesio, 1911

This is an Italian waltz, published in New York in 1911 for the Italian-American community. As usual for these dances, the published arrangement was for a trio of two mandolins and guitar. I have added a mandocello part extracted from the guitar bass line.

I learned this from a modern transcription of the 1911 score, at Michel Van Der Meiren's homepage:

The 1911 original is also in Sheri's Tesio folder.

    1890s Umberto Ceccherini mandolin (x2)
    Vintage Viaten tenor guitar
    Suzuki MC-815 mandocello

I would love to see your arrangement, especially with the mandocello part. Is that posted and I am missing it?

    Thanks, Jim!

I was playing straight from Michel's PDF score at the link above (direct link to PDF), which in turn is a direct transcript of the three original 1911 Tesio parts, minus dynamic marks. There is no written mandocello "part" as such, I was simply playing the bass notes of the guitar part on the first beat of each bar, plus the single-note guitar runs, reading from the guitar part.
