    Thanks for posting the notice. I'm especially drawn to the lush Brazilian music of this era and the man was a genius. His recordings with Stan Getz will be played 100 years from now, my opinion. Few people help define a style of music so well.

    For you younger players, there was a point in time about 1960-66 when this was some of the hottest jazz music on the planet. The record that he produced with Stan Getz was a huge success and brought us the songs " the girl from Ipanema" "Desafinado" lyrics rewritten by Ella Fitzgerald apparently, the translated lyrics don't bear any resemblence to the English ones). Also on the record was Corcovado and So Danca Samba, all classics now.

    this was also one of the first introductions from most Americans to the songwriting of Jobim.

    it also brought us the unique singing of Astrud Gilberto
