So I've been playing mandolin for about five months now, here's how far I've gotten. I learned this tune from mandolin Mondays (y'all might remember it) from October last year (not to say I learned it then, but the video was posted then) it's a really fun tune, and I'll probably always play it on April fool's day if you have any tips for me please share, I'll take what help is offered

Great playing! Keep up the good work.

Outstanding! I have to ask—any relation to my favorite old-time fiddler?

Thanks y'all! Wormpicker, who's your favorite old time fiddler? Probably no relation, but I probably wouldn't know

Gunnar, that was great! Did you play another stringed instrument before you took up the mandolin? You are making excellent progress for five months. I’m in my 60s, and only started on mando a year ago and while I practice alot, it’s a slow go. I’m gonna have to step up my game!

Thanks y'all! I have been playing guitar for about three years, banjo for just over two years, and fiddle for a year and a half. I can also play a bit of dobro, occasionally some ukulele, I played bass with the youth worship team during our furlough, and I also play harmonica, a little piano and a little bit of the Donald Trumpet (sorry I couldn't resist ) so yeah, I had a bit of a headstart

You are better at 5 months than I am after 20 years . . .

    Maybe I'll take up the tambourine . . . .

Lovely job. If this is five months, you'll be incredible at a year! Keep playing!

Ha, thanks Mike. Wormpicker, I don't know if he's related, he looks similar enough that it's possible, but I don't know. Thanks for asking, though, he seems like a cool person to study about
