Pick up the world and new preamp

I have been reading a lot of threads and looking at suggestions on pickups. Currently researching the pick up the world bridge transducer. A man I know installed one in an old Kay guitar and loves it. Has anyone here used one on their carved top mandolin? I see they also now have battery free active preamp as well. If I chose to go this route I would try the pickup with my current pres and pedals and if they didn’t get it done then look into their pre. I had ruled out a bridge mounted pup originally because I really like K&K in my 000-18.
