    Default Waverly reversal?

These are worm over, and seem to turn the correct way. Are these reversable? If so, how do you do it?

Did you mean to "reverse" the over/under worm aspect, or the turning direction? And what do you mean by 'correct way'? (Both CW and CCW turning machines exist on mandolins).

Generally speaking, no, they are not reversible.

Where did you get the worm over gear tuners? There is a need for these!!!! Sell them to me and buy a set of worm under gear-traditional with the $ from Stew-Mac! PM me! They were made for say late 20s-early 40's style Gibson F-5! Yours must be a custom job as I only ever seen one other set and that's on a early 30's F-5 that's at Carter's.

I would have to look at them to correctly answer but the worms on the knob shaft are cut /// on one set and \\\ on the other so there's no way to reverse them.

I've been looking for a set of those for years as well. I thought I remembered worm-over being an option on Waverly tuners at one time but I had decided I was just nuts.

I do believe Sunburst and others have mentioned a tool that is used to tighten them so I'm assuming you could reverse a set but they would turn backwards. Those look to be cut correctly.

They might exist but there is a correct way for them to turn.

The worms are cut //// on both, any way I flip them around looking at them. The picture is not great to tell for sure. But I see now that flipping them around and changing the shafts around fixes the shaft length but not the tuning direction. So these seem to be worm over Waverly tuners.

Trading time I guess. Send me a PM.

Certainly tuners with ////// cut are supposed to be installed as worm over - the less common version on f mandolins (and therefore rare and sought after by some folks who need them for thair instruments).
You can disassemble and make it look like worm under but they will turn backwards.
I would also measure the post distance as these were custom made for older mandolins (back when they were doing custom sets) and may be the longer post to post distance version for vintage mandolin.
Anyway you will have no problem trading them for new modern version that is worm under. I't not worth spending the time to disassemble and risk ruining some screw slots if they are secured with loctite...

The modern Waverly's on the 3-F5's i've had from OZ have all been worm over.
