Default Vintage banjo mandolin, banjolin, appreciate any info. TIA

Hello, I'm helping out an older gentleman to keep some income flowing by listing items he picks up at the estate sales on eBay. His latest find was an 8 string vintage banjolin. It is not marked, except on the underside of the head, Jos B Roger's, which is a drum head maker, not the banjolin itself. It has a solid wood drum, with inlaid design, mother of pearl on the fret board, it is in very good condition.

I listed it on eBay discussion, got one response that it might be from Sears catalog. I would love to get any other info if possible. I would appreciate any suggestions as to the maker and the value. Thank you

I bought an unmarked one a few months back with the same tensioning hardware. I traced the maker through a patent date marked on the hardware where the neck extension passes through the pot. 18 tensioning lugs is a clue. Mine had 20, but 22 was more common for that era.

Mine was an Oscar Schmidt. No idea what yours is.

Post a full-length front and back at a decent size and closeup of headstock from front and back. It could be an OS or other possibilities.

It looks very nice. The key to getting more than $100-200 for it on eBay is being able to identify it and find a collector of that brand. If you check eBay completed sales most of the unidentified MB's go for cheap, but can go for $400-800 for certain brands -- such as Washburn, Gibson, etc....

    Good luck with your sale.

Looks to be in pretty good shape. Have you posted it on Banjo Hangout forum? Those guys are very knowledgeable.
