Thread: Eastman Mandola MDA315

    Default Eastman Mandola MDA315

I just picked up a new MDA 315 and compared with a friends. The bridge height on his is near 7/8” and on mine about 1/4” lower. This seems odd and I can see that the height was reduced by Eastman at the foot of the bridge. It fits the top perfectly but I’m not so sure if this is too much of a difference in the neck angle. Anyone have any insight on this? I contacted Eastman customer service but have not hear from them as of yet. We cannot hear much difference in the sound but I wonder if this is common practice. I would assume they have a set neck angle for this instrument???

    Thanks for any info!

No experience with their mandolas, but their mandolins aren't known for quality problems like highly varying neck angles. Maybe find another one to compare, if you bought from TMS they could probably help too, and maybe even if you didn't. So your friend also has a mandola?
