Every so often I buy a vintage photo and I found this one the other day. The image of the boy in his new looking but oversized hat and coat (perhaps bought large to grow into?) makes it worth having alone. But I really bought it because he is standing in front of a music store and there's a new Regal Octophone (the cheaper model, I believe) clearly visible in the window. Above it is a sign that says "Adaptable to any atmosphere". And there is also the price--$15.
On the window is a sticker that seems to say "Garfield Park Club 1927." Google tells me that Garfield Park is a large park in the west end of Chicago, so I assume that's where the photo was taken.
Written on the bottom is the date of the photo: April 4, 1928. And the boy's name: Jack Shea.
Thought it might be of interest to some.
Thanks, Cary
