    The same as always. Tabs don't show fingers, they show frets.

    I got to meet banjo player Barry Abernathey one time. He bowhunts with a friend of mine. Here he is with Mountain Heart. He is about as digitally challenged as it is possible to get on the left hand. He holds his end up just fine.

    Jerry's missing finger was on his right hand. He did use the stub to hold his flat pick when he wanted to finger pick.
