Had you been there Sept 17th, you could have heard the Monroe Camp instructors at The Station Inn with special guest Ricky Skaggs sitting in on one set. That was about as good as it gets for bluegrass anywhere, anytime.

I believe the Ryman has a Bluegrass night every Thursday during the Summer.

Some of the most talented players in the world live in Nashville or the area, with new arrivals daily. I'm sure a little detective work on facebook and google would tell you where they like to hang out.

I was at a guitar show in Nashville about 20 years ago and somebody dragged us out to see this unknown guitarist playing down the street -- it was Johnny Hiland. I remember he played while somebody sang "The Weight" by the Band and it was as good as it gets, IMHO.

Not Bluegrass, but stuff like that happens all the time.
