Default 2006 a Golden Year for Webers?

Anyone else find 2006 Webers to be particularly good?

No, mine is custom for me. It has a great tone, Orford Cedar top, but not Bluegrassy. More modern and mellow than needed for my work in a bg band.
Some pics of mine were featured in some of the Weber promotional material...it is merlot red, varnish, with fly fishing shell art.

Thanks for the info, I needed $ at the time for getting my property ready for a house etc...Mine was gorgeous! Had very nice all varnished woods-bluegrass mando for sure, all maple and spruce topped! I loved the bound F-holes, It had a reddish type burst if I remember correctly? It was really green because of the newness and hardly played it before I gave it up but as I had an old F-7 conversion at the time that was the sound/voice for me-still is, but that Weber Elite was a piece of art, crafted perfectly! Fit and finish were the best out of many mandolins I've had-even modern Gibson's. I doubt they made a lot of them as if I remember they wee some big bucks-a bit under 10G? "I don't remember who bought it from me?-but I bet it opened very ell and sounds really good!" Mine I got from the mandolin store as they wanted my redone 1980 Gibson F5-L that was Wayne Benson's at some point. They saw my add and said we'll give you this? I thought they were a bit nutty as the Gibson had been re-graduated by the original owner who got it new "I want to say Ward Elliot did the work-but not positive?" And the Gibson may of been worth 5G at the time and I saw the model/craftsmenship and price for it and said oh yeah we'll trade! I'd love to know where it is and how it sounds but I never recorded #'s of stuff that were catch and release.
