My Loar LM-600 has Gotoh tuners and I've had no issues with them.

Well, they're on order, so I'll post to let people know what they're like once I get them fitted.

Had them installed. They work great. Really smooth and no issues with holding tuning. No issues with them whatsoever.

What kind of tuners were on it originally?

Hi Mike,

Originally Golden Age, but they were defective. All the buttons came loose. I didn't want to replace them with the same as they didn't feel great. Very clicky when turning.

I ordered a set of rubners from Germany, which were great, but the tuners stuck out a lot more than the golden age. Made the mandolin look kinda 'goofy', and they were wide enough to make it difficult to squeeze into my calton (cut for a different mandolin).

So I tried these, as they were really cheap in UK (£20). I really really like them. The buttons are wide and kinda indented; really easy to grab hold off without looking, even with big clunky hands. And very smooth. I've Waverly on a different mandolin ,and they're better. But 20 times better? Not in my opinion.

Also like the fact that the plate on the back (not sure if that's the right name) is nice and big so covers up the marks from the other tuners.

The imitation ivory button doesn't look as nice as the rubners, but I can live with that. More comfortable in the fingers when turning; for me anyway. Very happy with them.
