Found this old bowlback for sale. Can anyone identify it?

German or Czech would be my guess.

Slotted headstock, shape of the pickguard -- looks European to me.

I've no idea, though the lyre logo on the scratchplate and also on the tailpiece (though difficult to see) would seem the strongest clue towards identification.

Central European, certainly. I was surprised that it lacked a zero fret.

Sort of a copy (style-wise) of an Embergher. I see no L&H features.

I am not sure if the bridge is placed right for proper intonation. Usually it would be closer to the cant in the top. Also does it have a radiused fretboard? Can you post a photo from the back view?

At first view, I didn't see the "Lyon & Healy" tag tied to the tuning peg.

Whoever's selling it -- or at least labeling it -- is misinformed. And if that price tag says € 500.00, it's also overpriced.

Headstock looks pretty gnarly. Perhaps some kind headstock ornament (Embergherian bottle-opener / HG Wells piece??) might have been broken off?

I'm resisting the temptation to say it isn't a Larson. But there's no real way to prove that, is there?

Not really. Lyres are very common as a decoration on many instruments and that lyre on the tailpiece looks like it was imprinted on a piece of leather. Also tailpieces are often replaced.

Tailpieces are replaced. But it us on the scratch-plate too. (that's 'pick guard' to some).

Butterflies are also very common but generally the shape of scratch-plates, headstocks and other stylistic features are probably more useful for identifying. Manufacturers often bought from outside suppliers so you can find the same pearl inlays appearing on different maker’s instruments.

Thanks for all your answers. Seems to be a tricky one this one.
