Land of Living Skies by the Regina Mandolin Orchestra
Here's a video from May 20, 2019 of the Regina Mandolin Orchestra performing a piece that I wrote for them over last winter. I was honored to be asked to write them some music for their 30th anniversary year. You can read more about the piece and its genesis at my So Many Tunes blog (linked below) and you can see a pdf of the score at this link:

Many thanks to Natalia and the folks in Saskatchewan for making my music sound so good.

Wonderful! Were you able to be there for the concert?

Unfortunately, no. While northeast Iowa is closer to Regina than most parts of the U.S. it is still pretty far away. The video is almost as good as being there though.

Re: Land of Living Skies by the Regina Mandolin Orchestra
I love the addition of winds; I think mandolin orchestras in general need to think beyond the "string quartet" model and open up to more colorful and varied textures. A few years ago at Philly CMSA I picked up score & parts of your North Georgia Hills for our OMO, and we'll be playing it in a couple weeks at a big concert-in-the-park event near Portland. I will be using your mandocello suite at the CMSA Solo Mandocello presentation, hoping you can be there to point out my mistakes!
