Default Melody for Violin and Piano - Albert, Prince Consort 1819-1862

It is the 200th anniversary of the birth of both Queen Victoria and her husband, Albert the Prince Consort, this year.

Both were music lovers and Albert wrote many short pieces - mainly songs.

This is a short, simple piece for violin with piano accompaniment written by Albert

Please note - the date of 1882 is, I believe, the date of first publication.

Score and parts available on my website at

It is arranged for mandolin quartet, though either the 8ve mandola or guitar part can be omitted, so forming a trio.

I have included the mp3 in the zip file, and also an mp3 of just the piano accompaniment so that it can be 'played along to'.

I have posted two versions - one in the original key of F and another with it transposed to G.
