I agree with Allen. Recently, there have been an unusual high number of Levins (out of Sweden) on eBay. Did everybody in Sweden stop playing mandolin or did Levin simple make so many mandolins. They never stopped making instruments during WWII because Sweden cooperated with the Nazis... although, I would imaging WWII cut into sales. Levin was active from 1900 to 1978, the company produced over half a million instruments, mostly guitars, but also mandolins, banjos and lutes.

Levins are not plentiful in Florida, but I here they are made well & there's a whole lot of vintage ones available. Which I prefer to Asian mandolins. Also, they are cheap (most under $200 with shipping) but they seem to be only round & oval hole. There are 7 current auctions & 9 completed auctions of Levin Mandolins on ebay and not one has f-holes.

I just noticed... All of the Levin mandolins (in both the current and recently completed auctions), on ebay, are from the same seller! He appears be a dealer, from Sweden, looking for a larger market (than Sweden).
