“Sharps/Flats” ≠ “Accidentals”
I was very saddened to read about John Starling´s expected passing. His vocals on "Raised By The Railroad Line" (Act 1) blew me away when I heard them half a lifetime ago just as they blow me away today.
He has probably sung about his life´s essence here (extremely sad but beautiful):
RIP

The trio of Starling, Duffey and Auldridge was a force. R.I.P., John Starling.
He made singing sound so easy, effortless.

Dr. Starling changed the way many singers in bluegrass approach vocals, as surely as Tony Rice changed the way the guitar is used in the music.
I didn't know he had be undergoing hospice care -- this news came as a shock to me.
One of the great singers of the music -- and he was a remarkably smooth rhythm guitar player as well.
RIP.
Thanks Denny, that is sad news, he was one of the best to say the least!
