Thread: Playing in C

    Default Playing in C

Today I got to play at a civil war re-anactment. I’m ok in D,G and A but C was a bit of a struggle. Chords I figured out ok, but melody was a bit of a struggle. Capo, or just get my C fingering down?

Are you playing a tenor guitar tune CGDA? If so, playing in C should the same as playing in G on a mandolin.

Sorry, GDAE. I’m also working on mandolin and fiddle.

Play in C no capo. I think this is better in the long run. Drop your G licks down a string. (C note is fifth fret on G string just like G is fifth fret on D string).
