I wonder how many more players stuck with mandolin once they were able to set up their inexpensive mandolins. Hard to think of a bigger impact on our community.

+1 on setup. If you look at my signature you will see 2 Indiana guitars. Once they are setup they play great. One of the problems with inexpensive instruments is there is not much profit margin on them.

What I have seen in most shops that sell them is they don't bother with setup. The way they come out of the box is it. If you do want a setup they want to charge.

Knowing how to setup an instrument is something good to know. They will need a tweak once in a while.

Rob's ebook will be indispensable in maintaining my new toy.
