Default Another Tenor Guitar from a Squier Mini

Finished my latest project. I took a Squier Mini guitar and converted it to a tenor guitar. The dimensions for the neck come from my Ibanez PFT2-NT acoustic tenor. Feels good and sounds great.

Learned a lot and I have some ideas on what I would do differently for the next one. It is not my nature to leave well enough alone.

I think I will trim the entire neck down to size then modify the body to accept the thinner neck. This will require refinishing the body so it will be a bigger project. I may change the bridge to be a through the body stringing. I would also change how I shaped the head on the top side, leaving more material above the tuner. Maybe wrap the body instead of painting it......

I was able to buy another Squier Mini yesterday. However, I have a few more projects ahead of this one. I love retirement!

Nice work @nelica, these are pretty addicting projects!

Epiphone made an Express series of small guitars as well, based on the Les Paul & SG (hard to find) body shapes. 22" scale. Nice thing is that they also have bolt-on necks, so easy to remove & shave down. But hey, if you're a Strat person, you're a Strat person ...

    Dang bbcee,

I didn't know about the Les Pauls. I thought they all had glue on necks. Now I have to find one of those ; )

Recently, I bought a Mitchell TD100 and eliminated the two outer strings, tuned it GDAE as an octave mandolin, Really nice tone. The neck is too wide for now but I like the sound.
