    Does that Loar look thicker than average ? It looks thicker than my recent Gibson. Or maybe its just that Andrew is skinnier than my recent midsection throwing off the appearance in scale ? Ha ! Anyway, its an incredible sounding instrument.

    You know, I thought the same thing about the thickness of the Loar. Reminded me of the Big Mon!!

    I too thought it looked thick, and it did look black topped at times.
    Could it be a mandola?
