    Default NMD - Northfield F5S

Played one of these when I was in Austin and fell in love. Put it through the paces today at Taborgrass and at a Don Julin clinic at Artichoke Music here in PDX and I'm even deeper in love.

How was the clinic? Don has one coming up in my area, and I'm thinking about attending.

This is my second clinic with Don. The first was his Improvisation class, which included several different instrument players. That was great, but this one was his "Master Class" for mandolins, mainly working through right hand techniques. The info was super helpful. I consider myself somewhere in the Intermediate range, and there were folks there at both ends of the skill spectrum.

He is a fantastic communicator and a wealth of knowledge. He has the rare ability to make subject matter pertinent to several different skill levels within the same group of attendees. He'll simplify when needed, but go as deep as you want.

Very nice. Was seriously considering a Northfield before going for the Collings. If I ever go for an F model, will probably be a Northfield.

    Nice Mando
Because mine has eight, does that make it twice as cool as a ukulele?
