That was made by the Regal Company of Chicago probably in the 1930s or 1940s. It is a budget mandolin but these sometimes sounds quite nice if set up well. I love the "upgrade" to mother-of-toilet-seat fretboard and headstock overlay.

Ah, so many discussions. I thought at some point this had been positively ID'd from a catalog page.

I'm actually torn on these. That tailpiece was common on Regal instruments. That marquetry binding was common on Harmony instruments. The entire package looks a whole lot like a Stromberg-Voisenet instrument. I thought there was a catalog page on these that had popped up but I can't find it.

If nothing else some of this design was labelled Supertone, in which case would have been sold by Sears. Since Sears Roebuck owned Harmony that maker would be likely. I see that headstock made by Regal. I have to dig out my Regal book and see if there are any of those shown there.
