Default harmonic (?) truss rod buzz

Okay, not a mando but I bought this Teisco six string because I love it's tenor-bouzouki conversion cousin I picked up a couple years ago.

    I get truss rod buzz playing A's & D's on strings 1-4.

I've dealt with truss buzz before on another guitar with a slight tightening of the rod.

Rapping on the back of the neck, I can cause the rod to rattle, somewhere between the 2nd and 6th fret it seems.

Before I just have at the truss, any thoughts/ advise appreciated.

    Thanks

The first thing I would do is check to see if the rod is loose. Could deal with that quicker than typing a post. Unless it's been wrenched on by a gorilla, there's going to be no harm in snugging it up a loose rod.

Agree with sliebers, I would put a wrench to it and see if it is loose. It's not uncommon for a truss rod to change.
