I am the newest of beginners but would love to sit in and watch and learn. Anybody gathering in the NOVA area?

The only one I can vouch for is the Lyon Park jam on Sundays. I have been to one. It was well attended, but kind of clique-ish.

My recommendation is Round Hill Va. Arts Center - last friday of every month. They are primarily bluegrass, but a lot of other styles are there too.

    David,
Thanks for the tip. Round Hill on a friday night could work for me. cross country afterward would get me home in less than an hour.

I'm an experienced picker, but am new to the jam scene in DC. I'll try to make some of these No.VA jams. Jason, are you taking lessons?
