What's it got on at the moment? I prefer lighter strings and I'm using .014/.022w/.032w/.045w on mine which are great.
Yes, it would help to know what gauges it came with, if you can find out. Then we can go from there.
I have an OM with a 22" scale using the D'Addario EJ80 strings: .012 .022w .032w .046w, with a .013 substituted on top. We all have to find our preferred gauges because OM builds vary so much, but the EJ80 set is something of a baseline OM set for a 22" scale instrument.
Before deciding that you need lighter gauges, make sure you have a good setup with low enough action. Depending on where you bought your Gold Tone, it might not have been set up correctly for playable action at the store. And be careful going too light in string gauge, because you'll lose some volume, and might even need a truss rod adjustment if the neck is used to higher tension.
You might try the D'Addario EJ81 Irish bouzouki set, .011, .016, .028w, .040w if even .12 is too heavy. But as others have said it could be the set up more than the strings.
