    Default Walt Kuhlman Gypsy mandolin

I am selling a Gypsy mandolin crafted by the late Walt Kuhlman and don't know
how much to ask for it. It is one of his base models with the ebony tail piece. Any
help will be greatly appreciated. I purchased it new and spoke to Walt over the phone
at that time. He was very kind and helpful.

I both bought and later sold such an instrument in the ~$450 range 5-6 years ago. The standard depreciation from new on a mandolin is a loss of 30% or so, but in my experience the flattop market takes a bigger bite. You don’t see Gypsies come up too often, but comparable instruments like Mid-Missouri’s are going for $350 in the classifieds when equivalent new models cost over $700 new.
