Thread: Tuners again

    Default Tuners again

HI Folks, these are the tuners on my 1935 A50 and they're stiff and jerky and hard to turn. Can't see any physical damage.

Are they worth trying to improve or should I buy it something better ? It's a great Mandolin, lovely sound, a wonderful V neck & a great sunburst. Click image for larger version.

Take a look at the late Paul Hostetter's tuner maintenance page. It is here. Most of the time simply servicing these tuners brings them back to life. Also, make sure the strings aren't binding in the nut.
