    Default Afanti/Pango Octave mandolin (PMD-216 or AMD-216)

I had not heard that brand name. Am interested in this octave mandolin. Does anyone owns? I want you to let me know your review and some opinions. Thanks.

Extensive current thread on Pango instruments from the Cafe's CBOM forum. Focuses on mandocello, but might help you in evaluating an OM.

    Hi Kykym.
    Welcome to the Mandolin Cafe!

I own 2 mandolins from Afanti/Pango. Both needed setup when they arrived, including fretboard oil, one with need of some minor fret leveling.
I like both and the cost is quite good for an instrument of this level.
Here is my review of the A5

Here is a partial review of the F5:

I'll finish this review when I get back from the road and have some time to make some videos.

The Afanti PMD-216/AMD-216 is the same as the TKD Falcon, which sells for $2495 (though setup and case is included).
You might inquire from Afanti if they can provide a case as well.

I do not know what the cost of professional setup is in Japan, but it will need it. In the USA the cost is $100-$200.
Please let us know if you order one and how you like it once it arrives and is setup for you.

    Thanks for the posting.
I have found those octave mandolins on AliExpress and eBay. They will be FREE shipping charge if I purchased Afanti on AliExpress. I need to pay shipping charge at US$35 if I purchased Pango on eBay.
Those are same instruments... I just feel anxious for purchasing it on AliExpress. Because they won't accept Paypal payment.
