Default replacement bridge for a flat-top?

    Anyone know of a cumberland-like bridge for a flat-top?

    Thanks.

Cumberland will build one for you. I talked to Steve about one when I commissioned my Poe Scout, and I’m sure such a bridge was on both of the Redline Travelers that I owned. The only question, in my experience, is whether the geometry of your particular flattop can accommodate the height of an adjustable two-piece bridge. Talk to Steve.

Thanks, I'll contact him, I measured the flat-top vs one of my archtops, and the string height from the top is about 3/4" on the arch, but the height could be adjusted about 1/16 down, and 1/2" on the flat, so it may not be possible, but I can send him the measurements and let him tell me.

Steve did one for me when I had a Flatiron 1N and I worked it down pretty low, but it still felt a little high. I sold it before I needed to, but I was also going to get Mike Dulak to do a couple of fixes bridges for me like he does for his Big Muddy Mandolins, and his prices on those were really good. Whatever you get, just be prepared to work at it to get it sanded flush to your mando's top!

Would this bridge be for the Red Valley listed in your signature? If so, you might want to ask James Wilson. It looks like he has instruments with adjustable bridges pictured on his website:

It's for the Trinity College OM. The Red Valley has a fully adjustable bridge AFAIK.

It occurred to me that James Wilson might be a possible source for bridges too.
I have a mando on order from him, maybe I could get him to ship me an extra bridge from
    one of his OM's too.

I will wait until I hear back from Cumberland first though.

    Thanks.
