My bad. I’m usually obsessive about fact checking but when I saw it on my Facebook I didn’t think twice.
Thanks for the post Gary. Although I've been a Mandolin Cafe member since 2004 I've only been playing for two years and I'm just becoming acquainted with the mandolin greats. So now I know about Donna Stoneman and the Stoneman Family after following the youtube trail. I even watched a nice interview done by Tara Linhardt who I've also just learned of and like very much.

Donna and the late Scotty Stoneman were members of the Bluegrass Champs, who won the Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts TV contest in 1956. So, nearly 65 years ago, "Dancing Donna" was playing bluegrass mandolin on national TV. A real pioneer...
