Have you found out a tuning that suits better the TG-50s?

I had one years ago and tried GDAE tuning but it was too quiet. I put it back in standard tenor tuning (CGDA) put a DeArmond "monkey on a stick" pickup on it and ran it thru a fender tube amp. The results were amazing. Very fun to play.

I was thinking the same! Think I'm gonna try your setup, found a DeArmond "monkey on a stick" pickup on sale, they are pretty rare in France! This might save my TG-50 or else I'll pass it to somone else. Thank you !
I think you will be very surprised at the variety of tones you can pull from that setup, esp with a tube amp that has a volume and master volume control. It can be a classic jazz guitar tone to a crunchy rockabilly tone and everything inbetween.

Fortunately I already have a Fender hot rod deluxe; cant wait to hear how the all thing will sound.
with those floating pickups its so easy just to try!
Here is a video of Tyler Jackson playing a Gibson arch-top tenor with a "monkey on a stick" pickup.............
I believe he is using CGDA tuning
