    Default The Seat Belt Chop

Anyone else slowly wearing down their seat belt chopping on it while listening to bluegrass in the car? I actually put a pic in the car to play with on the seat belt. Am I the only one?

    Yes.

(But I nearly put a hole in my right leg's pants leg when I was learning how to fingerpick.)

Yep, I’ve had issues....still do....got a nice wool coat for professional dress when going to work (corporate), and recently noticed a rough patch where I “ghost pick” along with tunes in the car.

No. My only problem is foot tapping on the accelerator. When a fast tempo song comes on its a scary ride to work.
No matter where I go, there I am...Unless I'm running a little late.

One friend of mine claims to play the mandolin while driving down the interstate on road trips to gigs.

Maybe you should drive with both hands.
And later play with both hands.

Snowy roads this morning so I couldn't chop. Hopefully roads will be clear this afternoon.

No but I bet the person in the car next to you at a stop light is wondering what the heck you are doing.

Buy a self driving Tesla and then you can actually play your mandolin in the car as you cruise along.
