Default A new F style mandolin

Not a trad F-5, but more influenced by John Monteleone, Hans Bentrup, Steve Sorensen and others. Sitka and Australian Blackwood, ebony fretboard, ivoroid binding with custom Rubner tuners and a James tailpiece. A New Zealand silver fern on the head, as the new owner is a Kiwi.

    Cheers

Very nice -- the blackwood looks great, as does the peghead inlay.

Fantastic! At last a new "fern" inlay. Not that the classic one is bad.

It was as nice a piece of Blackwood as I have and thank you all for the kind words. Hopefully the new owner (not sure if he is a member here) will record something and it will likely appear on the Facebook mandolin group feed.

Current project is a five course mandocello which looks like fun, but I am not looking forward to carving a Blackwood back for that one.

    Cheers
