Ella was much more pleasing to my ear, than your Gil, when I saw/heard you and Eli up close at The Station. Really surprised you let her go. Curious as to where Danny's Nugget ended up?

Danny’s nugget went back to Danny. Ella never felt like my mando. I agree it had something special but they all do. The Loar has it all.

Well that was the spirit and history of Ella as I understand the history. John Sullivan used to lend Ella out to folks while they were waiting for their new builds, for repairs to be completed or just because. Maybe you had Ella while you needed her...

It's like Ella is this travelling muse mandolin, always moving, always inspiring the one who needs her most, but never finding that one true match.

    There's a song in there, I'm sure...

My favorite quote from the Mandolin Orange interview - "I like to think of the Statue of Liberty as a mother figure for the country." Beautiful! Will keep me up for the whole day. Thank you Andrew!

Cool video. I assume the host has never heard of the citrus reticulata (mandarin orange).

Andrew, if you're still monitoring this thread, please let me know if you would like an extra copy of the Billboard in which the new album charted. I have a copy, and it's just going to end up getting recycled unless you would like an extra one for you or your family. (I could mail it or just bring it with me the next time I expect to see you in Chapel Hill or Raleigh.)

Very excited to see Mandolin Orange (and Andrew's new Loar) tonight at the Moore in Seattle! Great theater, great acoustics. [I have an extra ticket if anyone here in town is interested]

Andrew, My son who is 31 introduced me to your music several years ago. We both love your records and he has seen you live. I hope to one day. My favorite song of yours is Wrecking Ball. I relate to it because I have a rare form of Parkinson's and my wife is my caregiver. Your song, which I perform in rest homes, speaks to how my wife is my savior every day, "We danced on the water with my head on her shoulder... she swore to never let me fall..." A great lyric all the way through on that one. Thanks for inspiring us. Dan

Dear Andrew, thank you for sharing your beautiful music with us .. and congratulations for getting that wonderfully sounding Lloyd Loar! Is it equipped with Virzi Tone producer or not, please?

Sending you greetings from Prague, Central Europe!

It has been played a lot through the years and most of the top coat is worn off but, there is no overspray. The neck and headstock is bound in white binding which they sarted doing on those late 24 batches. Cheers!

Andrew & Emily: We were at your concert in Breckenridge a couple years back and really looking forward to seeing you two again with the Colorado Symphony in January.
