Default so i looked up Sharon Gilchrist on youtube last night

I've been taking mandolin class on pegheadNation, Sharons lessons, for a while now and I totally enjoy her teaching style.
I had never looked her up on youtube, for some reason I was looking around at things and there she was with this. After I watched this, I looked at others. Amazing skill and what I immediately took notice of was how at ease she appears even when driving the mandolin hard and fast. In the lessons, she really trys to impart ways to stay relaxed and methods that she has found that work for her.

I'm a huge fan of Sharon Gilchrist. I'm actually secretly in love with her. Please don't tell her (or my wife) though! Here she is doing Squirrel Hunters - just killer. Watch how she conducts the band with her eyes and head movements.

I've taken her lessons at PHN and imo she is a gifted instructor for passing on solid fundamentals and technique. The most effective tip I've gotten for playing better came from her. If I won the 'play a session with a well known mandolin player' lottery I'd chose her.

I think a lot of us are secretly in love with her! I won't tell your wife if you don't tell mine.

Yes, Sharon is a great player and fun person. I was with her at Targhee twice, a few years ago along with John R and Scott N when they had just released the New Harmonic Tone Revealers album and again last year with a spot on the sidelines of the video with Fil Pate - who is also an excellent player/teacher/great person. I haven't done her PHN videos but she taught us her system of double stops which remains one of the most helpful things I've picked up at a camp or workshop.
