Default Good mandolin in 2019 Grammy Nominees?

I just looked through this year's list of Grammy nominees for Bluegrass Album and realized that I didn't really know any of the groups.

Portaits in Fiddles, by Mike Barnett
Sister Sadie II, by Sister Sadie
Rivers and Roads - Special Concensus
    Travelin McCourys - Travelin' McCourys
North of Despair - Wood & Wire

Any recommendations for any of these albums in regards to mandolin playing?

They're all top notch but I kinda favor Sister Sadie.

You can search the band name on YouTube and you'll get great examples.

Two great versions of the same great song by two artists on the list:

Mike Barnett -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-VMG8RXjkQ (featuring Jake Jolliff)

    Special Consensus -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naU-L8mEInk

And not from the Travelin' McCourys but related...

Last night I found YouTube performances by all these musicians and I imagine I'll be buying CD's from all of them. (YouTube is awesome.)

I just heard some of the group Mandolin Orange the other day, they were pretty good - I think they are in the country category as a group, I don't know if they are up for a Grammy or not, but I had never heard of them before. But with Mandolin in the name, well, I had to listen.

I ran across Mandolin Orange on YouTube a few years ago and have been a big fan ever since. I didn't see that they were nominated - I do hope they were!

I think Andrew's solo album came out too late for this year's Grammy's but I would be surprised if it wasn't nominated next year. It's that good.

MO just released a new album last week and is starting a long touring season, so check their page for dates near you.

Yes, MO is supposed to be in KC in April but doesn't look like I can go. I am glad that they're touring into more areas.

I had not heard of Sister Sadie-wow, I really like these ladies, definitely will be checking them out. That banjo player is excellent-they all are.

Special Concensus is a great band, with plenty of tasty mando playing, and Rivers and Roads is a great album. Album of the year in any genre, not just bluegrass IMO. Some great guest artists on it too. Can't speak for the other records but I can recommend Rivers and Roads without hesitation. She Took the Tennessee River, Squirrel Hunter, other great tunes.

Lots of great mandolin players in the lineups.

    Sister Sadie - Tina Adair
    Special Consensus - Nick Dumas
    Travelin' McCourys - Ronnie McCoury
Wood & Wire - Billy Bright
Mike Barnett - I was lucky enough to play on about half of the tracks and the incredible Dominick Leslie plays on the other half. As a bonus, you get some Dominick & David Grisman duos on two tracks and Jesse McReynolds on two tracks.
