Default CPE Bach: Adagio in D Minor

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-1788): Adagio per il organo, H352

This Adagio in D Minor was written for organ, but it translates nicely to a trio of mandolin, tenor guitar and mandocello -- the piece consist of three monophonic voices, each intended to be played on a different organ stop and written on a different staff. It can be played on plucked instruments straight from the organ score. I have dropped the middle voice down an octave, and have played it on tenor guitar, with the top voice on mandolin and the bass voice on mandocello.

I have used a score from IMSLP (see attached):

CPE Bach was the second son of Johann Sebastian Bach, and the most successful of his sons: in his lifetime, he was much more famous than his father. His style straddles late baroque and early classical.
