    Default Incoming: 1965 Shiro

I'd been eyeing some nice '70's MIJ's and then a couple of conversations here led me to look again. A really nice Shiro came up (is that actually a one-piece back?!?) and is now coming home. I presume by '65 Shiro's factory was running big-time. In other news, they switched over to the Aria branding that year for much of their product lines.

I'm trying to find out more regarding these Shiro instruments. Spruce tops, macassar ebony head stock plate, and what appears to be ebony for the bridge and fret board. My real question is wood used for the body/sides/neck. I understand that Shiro often used mahogany; I'm trying to learn if they exclusively did so, and if not, what other woods might have been in the pile for them to use.

    Bueller? Anyone? TIA!

PS Pics will come once the instrument is home.

No input, but I am curious to see it. I am avid follower of the Japanese guitars thread on Delcamp.

I don't have any information either but am interested as I am a fan of APII's electrics and have heard nice things about the classical guitars.

Now that I have confirmation that it is en route, I'm happy to share the link to Reverb with pics from the seller. USPS ETA: Monday, nlt 2000. I figure by Tuesday night I should be opening it up.
