Bill Monroe name....I'm going to be conservative and say $2000-3000 more than their currently most high priced model.

    Great looking gourd.
I hope they make it a reasonable price so they can sell them all....and give the company the shot in the arm that they need.

It's on TMS website at $25K. There's a label signed by Bill Monroe. Maybe they had some left over from the Montana Monroe models, or maybe....

Scott posted some more pics in the NAMM thread and List price of $35k.

I think the back distressing is a bit overdone, or perhaps the finish around is too dark and opaque so the distressing looks odd. The top is one of the better efforts copying Mon's axe I've seen in long time.
I wonder why they do that smallish scroll button like on their production models... They used to do it right before flood.

Here is a link to the listing at TMS https://themandolinstore.com/product...-master-model/
I am waiting for the Bill Monroe Barber Shop edition. One that looks exactly like it would have new. Just kidding.

Top looks great the back is a wreck man!
I've never seen a back wear like that on anything, even old Loars they just wear on the back, top of bass side half way down?

I like the DMM a lot, but these are too much for my taste. But to each their own.

But you'd better sound good when you walk onstage with one of those!

Ok I just talked with David Harvey and he sent me some emails, the back is about spot on as he sent me a Monroe photo as well as a comparison. Pretty close and I stand corrected!

As I mentioned in the other thread, I just cannot understand why David doesn't fix the fingerboard so that frets 21 & 22 line up with the horizontal binding of the transition phase of the fingerboard/extension.

It always jumps out as just looking "wrong" compared to the Loars. And could probably be fixed in one afternoon. (maybe I'm wrong)

But especially on a reproduction "Hall of Fame" model!

    You were only off $1K, don't Master Models retail at $20,999, this one's $25K...$3K + $21K ($20,999) = $24K

That's only $1K off...your paying for labor intensive-specific distressing...Got to pay your dues($) if you wanna sing the blues and you know it don't come easy (cheap)...LOL!

The Flatiron/Gibson F-5s produced in the early 90's with the Bossman's actual signature are now looking like true bargains!

I don't know about that Bogle...they're really just F5Ls with Flowerpots on the headstock, some with spirit varnish, but the Montana build specs were waaaay different than Derrington/Harvey. I know Tom I. said the Monroe model had some graduation modifications, but they were a loose attempt at getting closer to a Loar; an interesting model in Gibson mandolin history....but in no way were they even close to what this is; apples & oranges in my mind, and I personally think their market value is over the top: you're paying $9-10K for Big Mon's signature, but essentially getting a Bozeman made F5L...check out this thread where we nailed down the specs and build methodology...no Flatiron in them at all btw!

The labels are authentic and actually signed by Bill Monroe, not a photo copy.

I just listened to the prototype and must say, very Loar like in voice, tone! NICE, I think I'll want the barbershop edition if it sounds like this first one! Dreams is free!

Hey David, is there a way for you to post the video of this "Monroe" so these café guys who can't get on facebook can hear it in action? I only could because my wife is on it. I really need a page but the Café takes my spare time! I LOVE it! Also maybe talk about the other "Monroe's that may be in the works" These guys will drool!
