    Default Violin case for mandolin?

This is just a random thought but I noticed a lot of really interesting violin cases available online. Would a Gibson mandolin be able to fit a violin case? I’m not jumping on any really more of hmmmmm question.

Not unless you find a teens-20's rectangular case and redo the inside, then maybe?

Not any I've seen. To have a case tightly fit a violin shape precludes it fitting a mandolin shape. R/
    I love hanging out with mandolin nerds . . . . . Thanks peeps ...

use a violin and viola case for my fiddle and arch top mandolin. I had to shuffle the adjustable neck rest position in the viola compartment to fit the shorter mandolin body.
I then made a support for under the rest of the mandolin neck, a divider between the instruments and reshaped the curves to match the tail of the mandolin.

Here is a photo as it arrived, from before I changed anything....

Because violas aren’t very standardised size wise you can get quite a few adjustable types even in single cases.
