Thread: "New Spec" eastman MD615 seen at TMS

  1. #1

Default "New Spec" eastman MD615 seen at TMS

Wondering what is "new spec" about it.

Reading through the specs the first thing that jumped out at me was the frets are taller (but only a little with Jescar 37053 - used to be .31's). That addresses one of my main complaints about Eastmans, the tiny frets. Most manufacturers ship with frets around 40ish tall, so they have joined the club AFAIK.

    Anybody else have more info?
Davey Stuart tenor guitar (based on his 18" mandola design).
Eastman MD-604SB with Grover 309 tuners.
Eastwood 4 string electric mandostang, 2x Airline e-mandola (4-string) one strung as an e-OM.
DSP's: Helix HX Stomp, various Zooms.
    Amps: THR-10, Sony XB-20.

Nice block inlays on the fingerboard and a pickguard.

These have been announced for a while, but there have been very few that made it to dealers. I waited 5 months to receive one. Right now there is probabaly a mixture of old and new styles in stock at various dealers.
