    Sadly, it would make far more sense to invest time and energy into a vintage instrument that would probably play and sound good after making such an effort and be worth a few pennies. I would imagine that this instrument would not do likewise.

    At least the seller is only asking $30 for it . . . I've seen junk like this on eBay with price tags that were very substantially higher!

    I assume that it was originally meant to be a lefty? Also, it looks like the top wood grain runs crosswise.

    Better to buy yourself some wood and make your own flattop. You still would have to buy new hardware for this one and who knows what else.
