I got to play an Ellis F-5 Deluxe at IBMA in Raleigh a couple of years ago and it was the most perfect mandolin I had ever seen. The workmanship was without flaw and the tone and playability outstanding. This "Reserve" is a whole nother level. Congrats to the new owner!

Pics are still up for now (it’s on hold) at the music emporium if anyone has a need to drool.

Hate the tailpiece. Why add glitz to a thing of beauty?

People said that about the shape of the F-5 I’m pretty sure, I think it’s a very pretty “complete” visually pleasing instrument, 5e fact that apparently the thing sounds great just adds to the appreciation of Mr. Ellis’s talent!

Good luck Mike, I tried to get everyone here to send Bill Halsey three dollars each so he could have built me a mandolin for my birthday for over 10 years, I guess I didn’t pitch the deal right.
