Why are there people blabbing in the background? Too bad for them, they missed it!

Looks like the thing was shot at either some kind of hotel lobby festival setting or a “social event” as opposed to a formal concert setting. To me, the background noise makes me feel a little more “there”.
    Thanks for sharing Mark!

Why aren't those people shutting up and gathering round? I met Billy once and he is very talented. If I was in the presence of Del, I would be shutting my mouth and opening my ears.

Somone did stop, otherwise there would not be this video!
People don’t always gather, sometimes they have things to discuss, like I said, this looks like a casual gathering at some sort of venue either between sets or after the show.
Also, microphones are notoriously universal in what they pick up, the human ear will filter unnecessary outside (unwanted) sound. Ask any wife!

Mark - Did you post the actual video,or just the Facebook link ?. There's a big gap in your first post that seems to have 'lost' something - at least i can't see anything,

Ivan, that's where the video should appear, in that big gap.

I do have a Facebook account and follow certain musicians who post videos there off the cuff sometimes. I think it's great that the forum software now accommodates posting of Facebook videos. Apparently, some members are often unable to see these videos. That could be due to browser incompatibilities, or the dodgy way Facebook handles video viewing; I have no idea why it is a problem for some. I decided a while back that what people like Billy Strings, Sierra Hull, etc. post can be of interest to the community, so I'll go ahead and post them although it could be frustrating for some. I'm really sorry that Facebook videos can be problematic, but I don't know of any way I can do it better.

I attended my first ever for me bluegrass festival last July in WV. My reason for attending was "Dawg" as I am a huge fan (especially so when he is playing with his jazz trio). I think of DG's mandolin playing as being amongst the best regardless of what genre he is playing. I knew Del was going to be there, though I had heard of him I really had almost no knowledge of his music beyond that he was a grasser.
But, what blew me away that week-end was Billy Strings. Besides being a phenomenal talent on the guitar, his stage persona is of an entertainer able to capture the audience and hold them from his first notes until he walks off the stage.
Now, I see he is no slouch on the mandolin either! He is young and a performer we will be hearing a lot more from in the future.

Ivan that's the bug of Firefox with certain computers (in my case Acer laptop). There is likely problem with compatibility of older graphics drivers with the newer Firefox. You can change the browser or learn to live with it as it is unlikely they will take care of this bug anytime soon... Each empty space like this is missing embedded FB video. You can right click the empty area, click the lowest line in the menu (I don't have english version - something like "inspect component") and it will show you the embedded vid code. You can right click the link in the code and open in new tab.
