Default Recommendations for a music stand light

    Calling all cars....

I'm fixing to get a light for a music stand.

Preferably LED, USB rechargeable if possible.

I've looked around on line and now am seeking first hand experience from trusted sources.

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Mick

I'm happy with my LEPOWER 14 LED Music Stand Light. 3 levels and very bright on high. USB rechargeable. Charge lasts a long time. Works well on my average size stand, but the clamp is a bit large so it may not work on a small one. Reviews say it can be turned on accidentally like when you put it in a bag, which drains the battery. I've not had that problem but I could see how it could happen.

If you want a serious stand light, look long and hard at Aria. I bought one a few years ago after seeing someone else's in a rehearsal. At the time, I thought I was an absolute idiot for spending that kind of money on a stand light. Every time I use it, I'm glad I did.

Warm LED light, spread evenly over both pages of a score, long-lasting rechargeable battery, rheostat. The way it's designed it's impossible for it to shine in the eyes of audience members or other musicians on stage. You can only use it with a music stand with a solid desk—it won't fit on a collapsable wire stand. I'm not a fan of the small clip-on lights that leave oval-shaped puddles of purple light across each page. These don't do that. I see the Forte, the newest one, can be charged with a USB. (Mine is a Brio and doesn't do that.)

I don't work for this company, I don't know anyone who does, no financial interest of any sort.

I picked up Lumiens L9 from Amazon and very happy with it. Has both battery and plug-in power with 2 settings. Gives good, even LED light over my music.

As I said, if you want or need a serious stand light, the ones from Aria are fantastic.

For playing out at church I used a mighty bright orchestra light with 9 led’s for almost 7 years and was very happy with it, it was packed up, moved and set up every week and never let me down. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/acce...rchestra-light At home my wife and I use the cheaper knock offs of the same light that I bought on E-bay, definitely lower quality but never removed from there music stands. I’d doubt they would last like the mighty brights if they were subjected to the same amount of wear and tear. As a side note for the last 2 years I’ve used an iPad mounted to my microphone stand and a bluetooth pedal to turn the pages.

Thank you, sir! This is the one my nephew, who is studying music in some conservatory up Boston way, recommended. I wound up purchasing a couple of them. So far so good!

I appreciate your (and others') responses.

Right now, this is just for us playing at home, but I can imagine scenarios playing out with it.

I dig your iPad with foot pedal set up! Muy coolioso.

I only use a light a couple of times a year, so I bought the Kootek rechargeable. Less than $20 online, and works fine for my needs.
A quarter tone flat and a half a beat behind.
